V1.1 Replace Function Notes
01 September 2005 18:21
Version 1.1 of Climb! introduces a powerful
replace function that enables the modification of
hundreds (or even thousands) of flight records in
a single operation. The time required to perform
these actions is dependent on the size of the
logbook, the number of flight records being
modified, and the speed of the computer. For
large logbooks (1000 flight records or more),
please be aware of the following:
- During an extensive replace operation, the progress bar may pause while database housekeeping takes place. The operation can be cancelled at any time without loss of data, but please be patient.
- Saving thousands of modified flight records can take many minutes. The spinning beachball cursor appears while changes are written to disk. This is normal.
- Save the logbook before beginning the replace operation.
- Limit the replace operation to a manageable subset of flight records.
- Once the replace operation is complete, check the results, then…
- Save or revert the logbook prior to performing additional replace operations.
